Forest Management In Religious Areas

In Sikkim, large tracts of forests are sacred groves which are under management of religious institutions such as monitories and temples. These sacred groves and forests bear not only religious and cultural values, but also highly important in terms of biodiversity because they are long been protected.

The Project will support conservation of such sacred groves and other religious areas by providing technical services, and enhancing plantation and protection activities by religious institutions.
